Today I got to attend one of the almost weekly fundraisers hosted by UCLA’s Circle K small scale fundraising chair – Ojo Ventura! Today we were selling 85 degrees and trying to raise money for the Trevor Project – an organization that helps save young LGTBQ lives. This is a great organization that we raise funds for and all the fundraisers are really fun!
Typically there’s a group of us out on BruinWalk, joining in with all the other clubs trying to sell their products. The goal is to be the loudest group and attract the most attention, and thus get the most support. We usually do this by yelling and playing music and telling everyone to “Get this bread” and “Relieve stress from midterms” and “Eat your feelings out”! It’s a really fun way and we gain support and recognition for both Circle K and the Trevor Project!
Next time you hear people screaming their hearts out on Bruinwalk, take a closer look and by all means, go buy some bread!
