What is a better way to spend a cloudy Sunday than doing some service indoors? On January 26th, I headed out with a couple other members of my club to one. We were introduced to the organization holding the event, One Incredible Family, who told us they held many service events throughout the year, and that this Valentine’s event was something they did every year in which they tried to make as many cards as they could, always trying to make more each year. This year, they told us they wanted over 200 cards. We were told the cards would be for underserved communities including veterans, kids, and the poor. They gave us many different craft materials, including construction paper, doilies, assorted stickers, and drawing tools. So our group took what we needed and sat down at a table and got to work. We had lots of fun coming up with various ideas to use in making our cards. For example, I used some cute food puns. Overall, it was an enjoyable event, and at the end we were satisfied with our work and hoped whoever received our cards would be even just a little bit happier with them.
